Spend  & Grow Rich

    Columbus C.E.O. – April 2004

“Small and local” sums it up for both CD101 and 1st Service Federal Credit Union.  So of course, the Columbus alt-rock FM station and the Hilliard based financial institution have gotten together to offer a Visa card.

CD101 Internet sales manager Shelby Hunt says he approached several financial institutions about a CD101 affinity card and decided 1st Service would be the perfect match: “They’re the right size institution for us.”  To get a VISA card, CD101 listeners must join the credit union, open a savings account and maintain a $50 balance.  1st Service President Jack Harper says more than two dozen folks signed up in the first two weeks the card was marketed.

Hunt says listeners who spend like crazy on their 1st Service Visas –doesn’t everybody?—earn points toward movie passes, concert tickets, CDs and other cool stuff that’s up for bid at www.cd101.com.

Cardholders get a CD101 “lounge point” for every dollar spent, and three points per dollar spent at “triple point partners”—restaurants and other station advertisers.  Pile up enough points and you might score Indigo Girls or the Crystal Method tickets at CD101’s monthly web auction”
