Watershed in the Big Room - January 10, 2003
Andyman: We are live in the CD101 Big Room.
(Applause)
Andyman: Big thanks to Amp. Amp Energy Drink for sponsoring the Big Room and a
big thanks to Watershed for being here.
Watershed: And a big thanks to everybody else who’s here.
(Applause)
Watershed: Cold weather, it’s the perfect time of the year for rock and roll.
Flurries, cold it’s great.
Andyman: This is a good time to rock.
Watershed: Yup.
Andyman: Yes it is. Which you guys will be doing tomorrow night at the Newport
Music Hall.
Watershed: Yup we’re very excited. Newport tomorrow night all ages. House of
Heroes openin’ up. It’s going to be a great show. We’re very very excited so we
hope everyone can make it out.
Andyman: There are still tickets available so uh get out go to the show. And uh
let’s just start off with some music. What do you say?
Watershed: Alright. We’re going to play a song here uh…there we go. This is uh
got a request for this one this is called “Suckerpunch”
(Applause)
Watershed Begins Playing The Song “Suckerpunch” (0:59)
(Applause)
Watershed: I also wanted to uh… thank you very much. I wanted to send that out
to uh Kurt on the Invisible Hits and Rick they seem to like that song to play.
It’s my favorite, ya know one of my favorite shows outside of yours of course,
The Invisible Hits Hour on Sunday nights.
Andyman: Well it is a lot of fun and that song is a lot of fun from “The More It
Hurts The More It Works.”
Watershed: Yes indeed.
Andyman: That’s also available. Tickets for the show tomorrow night are
available. That CD is available all around town.
Watershed: Yup
Andyman: You can also find it at WatershedCentral, right?
Watershed: Yup, our website is up and going and uh yeah if you ever have any
trouble or any questions about the band just go to WatershedCentral and we can
either answer you or blow you off. So either way someone’s happy.
Andyman: There ya go. And of course we are taking about WatershedCentral dot
com.
Watershed: Yup.
Andyman: Gotta throw that part in. Uh, man we didn’t even talk about how many
songs you’re going to do. How many songs are you guys gonna do while you’re
here?
Watershed: We just plan on doing three.
Andyman: Three? Okay.
Watershed: We came down just to hang, ya know, talk to everyone, spend some
quality time with everyone.
Andyman: You guys goin’ on the road?
Watershed: I was gone for the Andymanathon. I know Joe came down to help out.
How did…. obviously you survived so that’s good.
Andyman: Survived and a lot of fun and a lot of money raised, over $58,000
during the marathon.
(Applause)
Andyman: And it was very cool. Auctioned off some Buckeye tickets, uh.
Watershed: Are we playin’ anyone’s house are we playin’ anymore parties cause
last year we auctioned ourselves off for two parties and that got a little
crazy.
Andyman: Actually you are. You’re doing one. He caved. I think you are doing
one.
Watershed: Alright we’re goin’ back to Trish’s house. Yes, Trish is the person
that pledged. Thanks to Trish.
Andyman: Ah thank you Trish.
Watershed: Trish single-handedly pledged a thousand dollars to the Andymanathon.
(Applause)
Andyman: Very cool.
Watershed: And she’d like to take this opportunity to invite everyone in the
city to her house. Just come on over
Andyman: But use a coaster.
Watershed: Yeah, if you can. They, like, party-proof the house. It was like ICP
was playing or something. They, like, remodeled the whole family room. It was
indestructible.
Andyman: Now I haven’t seen you since last Friday but I would imagine the whole
band and everybody Watershed-oriented is probably pretty damn happy about 1 a.m.
last Friday.
Watershed: Yeah I was thinking today coming over here it’s a good time. Ya know
we’ve left to record records but ya know, I could never leave Columbus. I can
speak for the guys. It’s cold out it’s a good season for going out seeing some
rock and roll. And the Buckeyes won the national championship.
(Applause)
Watershed: Watershed is in a great mood.
Andyman: (Laughs)
Watershed: We’re in a great mood.
Andyman: Oh there you have it. I like that. Joe, anything to interject?
Watershed: All I need to say about uh where we watched the party was that
everybody was so excited that one guy actually streaked. One guy streaked on the
State House lawn. He did a “Rocky” goin’ up and down the stairs naked with his
clothes hidden in the bushes. And another guy separated his shoulder trying to
give me a high five. You gotta dedicate your body to the game people.
Andyman: That’s dedication. That’s Buckeye dedication right there.
Watershed: Yup
Andyman: From Watershed what are you doing to do now?
Watershed: Uh we’re thinking uh for everyone out there that’s possibly stuck in
traffic we do kind of a quiet one. This is uh, called “Romantic Noise”
Andyman: CD101 Watershed in the Big Room.
(Applause)
Watershed Begins Playing The Song “Romantic Noise” (06:43)
(Applause)
Andyman: Watershed in the CD101 Big Room.
(Applause)
Watershed: Someone right now just sittin’ in that car all mellow. Like that Beck
song does it to me, all melancholy. Wondering what they’re doing with their
lives. It’s that “See you on the other side” song that gets me man. Who is that,
David Grey? Wow.
Andyman: Yeah that’s “The Other Side” David Grey. It sounds a little like “Mad
Man Across the Water” doesn’t it? I love that song.
Watershed: Yeah
Andyman: What’s going on with Watershed besides the show tomorrow night. What’s
in the works?
Watershed: We’ve just been like I said, last year was a really good year for us
and obviously got a lot of support and the album, the CD as they call them
nowadays. I might as well get used to saying that. The CD has been doing well
and we toured a lot in the fall and startin’ after uh the Newport in a couple
weeks we go back out on the road and we’ll probably just tour all the way
through, I don’t know, April or May at the very least. I think we’re going to go
down and do south by southwest, which we haven’t done. And uh just basically uh
ya know keep the steam goin’ and keep goin’ spreadin’ the word.
Andyman: Alright, well speaking of keeping things goin’, shall we have some more
rock and roll?
Watershed: I don’t know. Do you guys wanna hear some more?
(Applause)
Andyman: Let’s do it.
Watershed: Alright. Alright here’s one uh that I think by now we’ve talked about
this but uh they played this at a few of the Buckeye games this year. So
actually a couple of big plays that happened this song was on immediately
beforehand. So we’re not taking credit for Ohio State’s national championship,
but you know, we all contributed. It’s a team, ya know. So…alright this is
called “Can’t Be Myself.” And it is a team so we’re going to need help from you
guys on this one if you know the song and you know the part.
Watershed Begins Playing “Can’t Be Myself” (11:35)
(Applause)
Andyman: Yeah!
(Applause)
Watershed: Thank you very, very much. You’re very nice.
(Applause)
Andyman: Yeah!
(Applause)
Andyman: Very good.
(Applause)
Watershed: Thank you.
(Applause)
Andyman: Watershed in the CD101 Big Room. Is that it or are you done? Or can we
get “Anniversary Song” out of you?
(Applause)
Watershed: Well I uh, sure, I guess.
(Applause)
Andyman: I sprung it on them, what do you think!
(Applause)
Watershed: Okay
Andyman: Don’t forget, tomorrow night, Newport Music Hall. Tickets available,
doors open at seven o’clock.
Watershed: Doors at eight actually.
Andyman: Door are at eight, like you said. Eight o’clock. Alright.
Watershed: Well you can come at seven if you want it makes it look good if
there’s a line out front. Sometimes we start the line we just stand there at
three in the afternoon, ya know with our friends, like “what’s goin on tonight.”
Alright so here’s “Anniversary.” And you can only hear this on CD101.
Watershed Begins To Play “Anniversary” (15:15)
Watershed: We’d like to thank everyone who called in and requested that too, we
appreciate that.
(Applause)
Andyman: Yeah! Watershed in the CD101 Big Room. Don’t forget the show tomorrow
night at the Newport. Doors are at eight. Start lining up at seven! Go out and
buy the record “The More It Hurts The More It Works.” Guys thanks a lot.
Watershed: No thank you Andy. Thanks for all the support you do for local music
in Columbus. Let’s hear it for Andy and CD101!
(Applause)
Watershed: This station, there’s not stations like this all over the country
believe me, we’re lucky.
Andyman: We’re proud to support local music. And a big thanks to Amp for
supporting the Big Room. Amp Energy Drink – Get Amped! That’s it from the Big
Room back over to command central.
(Applause)
